Black Walnut
This black walnut spoon has been ebonized to give it the characteristic deep luster; ebonizing is a food-safe process by which a natural reaction is created in the tannins of the wood, and does not involve coating with any darker substance. It was exciting to see the reaction take place, and to see the pitch-black result!
